Event service manager
(ATLANTIC Hotel Münster)
"Even as a child, when my parents took me on every trip to a new hotel, I knew that the hotel industry was an exciting profession. A profession for me! You meet different people, different cultures, you have different areas of responsibility and there is always something to do, it never gets boring! No matter where you go, there are hotels all over the world and tourism is not dying out.
So I started an apprenticeship as a specialist in the hotel business, which I successfully completed at the end of 2013 in a privately run country inn.
After my apprenticeship, I decided to study to deepen my knowledge and expand my boundaries. In 2016, I successfully completed the tourism management course with a Bachelor of Arts.
After my studies, it was clear to me that I wanted to return to the hotel industry. I tried out different companies, worked in different departments...
>> ...but never really felt I had arrived until the doors of the ATLANTIC Hotel were opened to me. <<
I started at the ATLANTIC Hotel Münster in March 2022, six months after the opening, as Chef de Rang in event service. I became aware of the benefits of the hotel group right from the interview. Due to my career background, I was offered the prospect of taking on the position of deputy event service manager after six months.
And that's how it turned out, six months later I was deputy manager. And since the beginning of 2023, I've been the event service manager at the ATLANTIC Hotel in Münster. In addition to my duties as event service manager, I am the compliance officer for the ATLANTIC Hotel Münster. I am delighted to be able to take on this role for the hotel and to be the contact person for all departments.
I can finally say: "I have arrived."
- I have a varied job in which I am constantly in contact with guests. I have different events every day, which always brings new challenges, but which encourage me in my job as an event service manager.
In my initial phase as Chef de Rang, I was able to familiarize myself with the individual areas, get to know all the employees and learn the operational tips and tricks of my colleagues. As deputy event service manager, I then gained an insight into the administrative world behind the scenes of events. I was able to learn a lot and gain a better understanding of many processes.
And as event service manager, I can now ultimately contribute many of my own ideas and implement them operationally with my team.
>> With ATLANTIC, I have a great team at my side and at ATLANTIC you are never stuck in one position, there are many opportunities for further training and development and that's what I've always been looking for. <<
